Mu Cang Chai District in the northwestern province of
Yen Bai offers one of
the most stunning landing points for paragliders: Lim Mong Village.
In the H’Mong language, Lim means “village” and Mong stands for the H’Mong
ethnic people. Lim Mong enchants thousands of tourists in the fall for its
beautiful, yellow rice terraces. In recent years, it has become a favorite
spot for paragliding contests.
Paragliders alight from the top of the Khau Pha mountain pass. From an
altitude of 1,200 meters, they have the chance to enjoy the spectacular
terraced rice paddies, the grand mountains and forests and small winding
roads.
Many international pilots who took part in paragliding contests in Khau Pha
said it is among the most beautiful flying spots in the world.
